Test report EMC
Test for EMC compliance of the PRIOline aluminum enclosure from Richard Wöhr GmbH, 75339 Höfen/Enz.
Object of investigation: ALU-enclosure
This test measures the dampening effect of the above enclosure. The enclosure has the following dimensions:
W = 260 mm H = 200 mm D = 270 mm
It is produced in PRIOline profile technique, chromated and provided with milled-in grooves at the joint edges (series-production status).
The purpose of this test is to prove the EMC compliance of this type of enclosure. For this purpose, a small emitter with a fundamental frequency of 6MHz was put into the enclosure, this one was closed and then two
axes were measured.
The radiation of the emitter outside the enclosure is shown in the image included below.
Result
As the emitter radiates with a maximum of up to 35dBµV (300MHz) (unshielded) and radiation is no longer measurable when it is mounted inside the enclosure, a dampening effect of at least 50dBm can be assumed. This
applies both to the radiation released and to the (incoming) irradiation.
Note for manufacturers of electronic devices in connexion with Wöhr-PRIOline enclosures:
As a matter of course, conductors which leave the enclosure must either have a shielding (directly connected to the aperture of the enclosure) or a filter in order to reach dampening values similar to those mentioned
above. This enclosure constitutes a simple but effective measure for high dampening values.
